Fidget Spinner Policy

None are Allowed!

Dear Parents/Guardians of Finletter:

Many children had been bringing the new fad toy-Fidget Spinners to school. Students had been observed using these toys and as a result they had been interfering with the instructional learning environment. The same school policy concerning the Fidget Spinners is in effect this school year. Please be advised these items are not allowed in school. Any Fidget Spinners brought to school will be taken away by school staff members and they will only be returned to parents after school between 3:15-3:30 PM. If a student brings in a Fidget Spinner for a second occurrence, it will be confiscated until the last day of school.

If any student has a diagnosis that would support the implementation of the fidget spinner as an approved clinical intervention, the appropriate medical/clinical documentation from a licensed practitioner must be submitted to the main office. As a reminder, any items that cause a distraction should not ​be brought into the school building. This is inclusive of toys and clothing. We appreciate in advance, your support with ensuring that learning is a top priority at Finletter. Please speak to your child about this policy to ensure that he or she is fully aware of the expectations at Finletter.
